Frequently asked questions

Everything about documents, pricing, charging, and what happens when plans change.

What documents do I need to rent an electric bike?

A valid driving licence (LMV or MCWG) and one government ID such as Aadhaar, passport, or voter ID. You submit them once in your account; after verification, every future booking confirms instantly.

Is there a security deposit?

Most of our fleet is zero-deposit. A small refundable deposit applies only to select high-performance motorcycles, and it is returned to your wallet automatically when the ride is completed.

Who pays for charging?

We hand over every bike fully charged. Charging during the rental is on you — most of our scooters use a standard 5A socket, and charging costs roughly ₹25–₹40 for a full battery.

Is there a kilometre limit?

Yes — each bike includes a free kilometre allowance per day (typically 80 km/day, shown on the bike page). Beyond that, a small per-kilometre charge applies and is settled at return.

Can I extend my ride after it starts?

Yes. Open the booking in your account and choose "Extend ride". You'll see the exact extension cost, and the extension is confirmed the moment the payment goes through — as long as the bike isn't booked right after your slot.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancel more than 24 hours before pickup for a 100% refund of what you've paid. Within 24 hours of pickup, 50% is refunded. Refunds are credited to your eWheelGo wallet instantly, and deposits are always returned in full.

What happens if I return the bike late?

There's a 30-minute grace period after your drop time. Beyond that, a per-hour late fee applies (shown on the bike page before you book).

How do I pay?

UPI, cards, net banking, and wallet are supported through our payment gateway. You can pay in full or reserve with a 25% advance and pay the balance at pickup.

Do you provide helmets?

Yes — one helmet is complimentary with every booking, sanitised between rides. You can add a second helmet for a small fee while booking.

Can the bike be delivered to my home?

Yes, doorstep delivery is available in all serviceable areas for a city-specific fee, or you can pick up free from any eWheelGo hub.

What if the bike breaks down mid-ride?

Call support from your booking page. We coordinate roadside assistance and, where needed, a replacement vehicle so a small issue doesn't end your day.
